New Ninja Turtles Trailer Busts out a Beefed up Shredder and Dubstep to Get the Youth Excited

Dubstep directions: apply liberally. Let kids' support roll in.

Trailer number two for Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles certainly looks like, well, number two—if you know what I mean. I’m still withholding judgment until I actually see the movie, but the out of place dubstep over the action scenes in the second half of the trailer and Turtles 2-esque Super Shredder don’t instill me with confidence.

I mean, the first movie (assuming there will be more, because there’s no such thing as a standalone movie anymore) is a weird choice for a place to start turning Shredder into something that basically looks like it was slapped together out of spare parts Bay had left over from Transformers. At least the original Ninja Turtles trilogy had the sense to wait until the end of the sequel.

And if that’s not enough for you, full posters of our radical heroes are being released in some kind of hashtag advertising campaign. Those kids are always texting on the Tweeter! Here they are in all of their inferior-to-a-rubber-suit-from-1990 glory:

Previously in dear God Michael Bay, why?
