Last month Titan Comics announced that they’d be putting out a new run of Doctor Who comics after nabbing the license from IDW last year. They’ve just announced the creative teams for both of their upcoming series, and were also nice enough to release the gorgeously drawn covers for each. Yeah, we’re gonna need poster sizes of these, please.
Titan will be putting out the first issue of both series on July 23: one features the Eleventh Doctor and will be written by Al Ewing (Loki: Agent of Asgard, Mighty Avengers, Trifecta) and Rob Williams (Revolutionary War, Ordinary, Miss Fury, The Royals: Masters of War, Trifecta), with art by Simon Fraser (Nikolai Dante, Grindhouse, Doctor Who). The other, starring the Tenth Doctor, will have an initial five-issue arc by Eisner Award-winner Nick Abadzis (Laika) and artist Elena Casagrande (Angel, Suicide Risk, Doctor Who, Star Trek), with the second arc to be written by Robbie Morrison (Drowntown, Nikolai Dante, The Authority). Definitely a lot of big names all around, so mark your calendars for July 23rd now. You won’t want to miss either of them!
Above is the Eleven cover; below is Ten’s (both done by Alice X. Zhang):
The likeness is… say it with me now… brilliant.
