The ‘Weapons’ trailer proves that Zach Cregger is one of the best doing it!

Barbarian brought us into the horror-filled mind of Zach Cregger and now we’re getting to see his take on a horror thriller with Weapons. How would you cope if your children all ran away in the middle of the night with no explanation?

“When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.” And the new trailer for the film shows Julia Garner’s character dealing with the aftermath of her students running away and the parents response. One such parent is played by Josh Brolin.

The rest of the cast includes Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, with Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.

If you’re looking for a creepy trailer, look no further than a deeper look into Weapons. Unlike the fear of an Airbnb with a locked door that Barbarian brought us, Weapons eats away at the idea of losing your child or, in Garner’s case, being the one to blame for your entire class of children all running away at the same time.

The trailer doesn’t give us a lot to work with in terms of what this movie is going to be about and honestly, good. We don’t need answers to every little thing before we even see it!

Creepy, right? And Josh Brolin as a dedicated dad trying to just find his kid? I love it. The role was originally supposed to go to Pedro Pascal but this cast is pretty stacked without him and we can’t wait to see it.

Not all trailers have to tell us everything

We’ve fallen into a bit of an issue where trailers give too much away. Which is why I love that the Weapons trailer tells you just enough to get you interested in the film without revealing all its secrets. We don’t need to know every little detail before even watching the movie, I promise you, it is okay!

Look at the trailer for Cregger’s Barbarian! It gives basically nothing away about the plot outside of the Airbnb of it all. Justin Long is even barely in the trailer.

When you go into a film knowing the bare minimum, it is a good thing. I’ve taken to not watching trailers outside of what I have to watch for work because I don’t want the experience to be spoiled. But luckily, Cregger and the team at Warner Bros. have us covered with Weapons.

I hope we continue to know the bare minimum and I cannot wait to see what one of the best horror directors out there has in store for us next.
