Her Mother Told Her She Had a Trust Fund to Inherit at 18. Then Her Mother Unhoused Her at 15: ‘That Was a Slap in the Face’
It wasn't all that it was hyped up to be by her mother.

The Apprentice Star Charlotte (@lottie.lion), better known as Lottie Lion, told TikTok about her “villain origin story.” She alleged that her mother lied about building her a trust fund and then unhoused her at just fifteen years old.
“Bear with me because this is going to sound entitled, but I promise you, it’s not,” Lottie Lion told social media. The reality star claimed her mother “made it out” as though she had been building her daughter a trust fund from a young age. As a young girl, Lottie Lion said she was convinced her mother had been saving a considerable amount of money. She was also allegedly told she would receive it when she turned 18.
“Now, when I was fifteen, I was made homeless by said mother, who chose her partner over me,” the star alleged. She claimed that during one winter night, she came home to find the door locks changed. Lottie Lion understood that she had been rejected. Before being kicked out, Lottie Lion claimed she was already in and out of her mother’s house since she was eleven. But by fifteen, she said she had been on her own since.
“My mother continued to take the child support that my father was paying to her for me instead of rerouting it to my bank account,” she further alleged. While some families desperately make ends meet with 300 kids, Lottie Lion suggested her mother pocketed the ₤300 weekly child support meant for her. At that point, she claimed to be both “financially independent” and “homeless” because of her mother.
“I spent about 100 nights sleeping on the streets when I wasn’t able to sofa surf at friends’ before I turned 18,” Lottie Lion claimed. She didn’t sugarcoat the experience, saying it was an “incredibly rough” time.
Breaking out on The Apprentice with a drained bank account
“When I was on The Apprentice, my bank account was on, like, ₤40. I had no money to my name, whatsoever,” Lottie Lion said. But then, her mother suddenly contacted her, supposedly reminding Lottie Lion of the “trust fund.” Her mother supposedly said that she had been building the account up all her daughter’s life.
“Bearing in mind, my mother was a diplomat, so she had a very, very good job,” the star alleged. Lottie Lion thought she would be relieved of her financial woes with the money her mother had been putting aside. She had endured years of homelessness, and she thought the “fund” also included the allegedly withheld child support.
“And then she made a huge deal about it and then transferred me ₤150,” Lottie Lion alleged. In US dollars, the transfer amounted to roughly $203. It was a sum that could hardly cover even a fourth of rent. She continued, “Now, I’m more than aware that ₤150 is more than some people have ever received from their parents. So, I really don’t want to sound stuck up and ungrateful. But that was a slap in the face.”
The Apprentice star also claimed her mother started selling stories about her to the UK publication, The Sun. “And she was getting paid to tell stories about me? Yeah, not great,” Lottie Lion commented. But not everyone’s relationship with their parent is the same, with some finding it harder to reconcile than others.
