Texas Lawyer takes on a rejected client for a divorce case, then she makes a chilling revelation about the mistress ‘I got the h in the trunk’

Lauren (@lauren_thelawyer), a Texas lawyer, told TikTok about a client she refused to represent. What she thought would be a routine divorce case turned into a potential legal landmine.

“So, this was a couple of years ago. I’m having a consultation with a young lady for a divorce, and the divorce is currently ongoing,” Lauren told TikTok. She saw the file had pending litigation, so she reviewed it.

“I’m seeing it was a fault divorce filed under the grounds of adultery,” she added. Other than that, Lauren said nothing in the document seemed too alarming. While reading, Lauren saw her client’s former lawyer and said that they withdrew from the case. She respected this colleague and wondered why they passed on the case.

“Like, you had a great lawyer. Why did they withdraw?” Lauren asked her client. Her client allegedly told her she didn’t have a good relationship with her former lawyer and that they kept fighting throughout. Lauren saw her client’s reason as a “yellow flag,” but not too alarming.

Lauren explained that in a fault divorce, her client had to prove her husband had intercourse with his mistress. Furthermore, she also had to show that her husband had been spending money on his mistress. Lauren said, “Good old-fashioned cheating is not enough since it’s a community property state. You have to tie the adulterous behavior to money. Was he buying the h****** houses, cars, clothes, bags? Tie it to the money.”

Lauren said her client had the bank statements and had even hired a forensic accountant to comb through their finances. Her client allegedly told her, “Honey, the juice is worth the squeeze. We just got to follow the cookie crumbs.” Lauren liked how thorough her client was, and the consultation ended on a positive note.

A client who would give any lawyer a scare

Despite getting along during the initial consultation, Lauren still decided to look into her client and called up her former lawyer. When she asked her colleague why they backed out of the case, they said the woman had a lot of circumstantial evidence on the financial side of the case. However, the woman couldn’t prove that intercourse was taking place between her husband and the supposed mistress.

Her colleague added that they were doing everything they legally could to get a confession from the alleged third party in the marriage. Lauren said, “They’ve been trying to depose her. They’ve been trying to subpoena her and make her testify in hearings, and she is evading, honey. She is basically on the run.” But things took a turn for the worse when the client allegedly took matters into her own hands.

Lauren said the client unexpectedly came into her colleague’s office. Then, she allegedly said, “I got the h** in the trunk. You want her?” The client allegedly kidnapped the mistress to force a confession. This revelation left Lauren stunned.

“I love a good paramour skirmish, and I do not run away from a challenge. But kidnapping and bringing it to my front door, i.e., my office? No, ma’am,” Lauren said. She has had other wild experiences and has even witnessed an alleged affair blow a wedding up. However, Lauren believes that kidnapping is extreme, even for her tastes.

“I decided to err on the side of caution and go with my better judgment, and I declined to take the case and referred her to a trusted colleague,” she concluded.
