Everyone’s Feel-Good Show Is Back (Yes, Season 4 Is Real)

Ted Lasso Season 4 is actually real folks. And, Apple TV is asking us to believe with Jason Sedeikis again.
Things are different in this outing though. Ted Lasso is coaching a second division women’s football team this time around. Apple TV is heading back onto the pitch August 5. Richmond still feels pretty magical in the new trailer. But, Sudeikis’ leading man has to face-up to the challenge this talented group of women are going to be.
Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein’s Roy Kent, and Juno Temple’s Keeley Jones all make appearances. Ted is out of bed, and facing a new day. Everyone isn’t so happy to see him though. Someone calls him a “wanker,” and he’s trying some sunglasses on for a look.
Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift are also back for Ted Lasso Season 4. Tanya Reynolds joins the crew with Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, and Rex Hayes. Other fresh faces include Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.
Here’s how Apple TV describes the upcoming campaign. “In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Ted Lasso is back for Season 4

At one point, viewers wondered if they’d ever see Sudeikis back in the role as Ted Lasso. That made a lot of sense. Season 3 served as a natural stopping point for that portion of the story. However, the series star must have had an inkling that there would be more of the fan favorite series.
The Ted Lasso star spoke to Deadline shortly before Season 3’s final episodes premiered. He felt like there was some opportunity to step out onto the pitch again. But, he couldn’t reveal anything.
“Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories,” the star teased. “Again, I can’t help but take the question as flattery for what all of us that were working on the show has tried to do.
Sudeikis added, “It’s really kind of folks to even consider that because you never know what’s gonna happen when you make things. The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue is lovely.”
In large part, the fans really did make this happen. It’s not hyperbole to say that Ted Lasso was the biggest show on Apple TV during the massive run the streamer enjoyed a couple years ago. Now, with their foothold firmly developed, the prestige TV destination has their flagship series back.
The new season Ted Lasso kicks off on August 5 on Apple TV. We’ll have all the updates and analysis when the episodes start rolling!
