Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, and Danish star Linnea Berthelsen are joining season two of Netflix’s Stranger Things, giving the show even more ’80s star power. Astin was, of course, in The Goonies and Reiser in Aliens, both of which are referenced in Stranger Things.

Astin will play a “former nerd who went to high school with Joyce and Hopper,” and now works at RadioShack. Reiser will play Dr. Owns, “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment who is tasked with containing the events of last year.” From this, we can guess that season 2 will have to deal with the aftermath of season 1 in some sinister clean-up. After all, the show needs a villain to replace Matthew Modine’s character.

Berthelsen will play Roman, a character we speculated about from a casting call. Roman is “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child” who doesn’t live in Hawkins, but is “mysteriously connected.” Do you think Roman is connected to Eleven’s past self “Jane Ives” or another missing child? We’ll just have to wait and see.
