‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Synopsis Has Fans Super Suspicious

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a fresh synopsis, and the latest story details have people raising their eyebrows.

Tom Holland and Zendaya formally kicked-off the promotional tour for the latest Sony superhero film in Spain. It’s the first time that they’ve been out to a red carpet together in a while. Get ready to see a lot of the couple together this summer!

But, as cool as a Zendaya red carpet moment is, it cannot compare to getting this mysterious new synopsis for the film. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a film already rumored to contain multiple villains, maybe there’s a secret one we all missed?

The new synopsis on the official website catches fans up. “It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him–and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him–sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control.”

“But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”

So, there’s a ton to unpack there in general. Whatever emotional turmoil Peter has been going through, it’s going to be a problem. But, what about this random villain “no one can even see?” What is up with that business?

There are a couple different wild options on offer for everyone.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hints at all-new villain?

So, let’s get this one out in the open from the word go. Let’s talk about Sadie Sink’s character. We know frighteningly little about her role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, we’re thinking that’s by design. 

Clearly, whoever Sink is playing is supposed to be a surprise. There’s no mention of a “new ally” or anything like that in the synopsis. Curiously silent! Well, you could say that Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo’s Marvel characters don’t pop-up here either. 

But, it feels like there’s something more here. In effect, the secret could be really big. Sink has her trademark red hair and that has MCU fans dreaming big. All this secrecy really could lead to the fancast that people have been excited about.

It might be time to truly start wondering if the Stranger Things actress really is Jean Grey. Spider-Man: Brand New Day giving us a classic X-Men character would be delightfully out of left-field. But, think about some of the other information we have.

Sink is confirmed to show up in Avengers: Doomsday later this year according to reports. In addition, why all this secrecy if she was playing another Spider-Man character like an MJ variant or something. I hate to feed the speculation machine. However, a lot of this feels suspicious now.

Could the star just be someone else? Totally. But, think of the shock in theaters when this movie drops if that’s hiding in the runtime. It’s only a few weeks away now. And, the mystery grows with every screenshot and trailer on your timeline.
