First Trailer for MTV’s Long-Awaited Scream Series Features Self-Awareness, Severed Heads

The calls are coming from inside the reboot.

Over two years since the series was first announced, MTV has finally released a trailer for its audacious TV show based on Wes Craven’s Scream movies.

The original franchise doesn’t seem well-suited for an episodic adaptation and I’m more than a little wary of the show’s character descriptions (I’m guessing that’s the aspiring filmmaker and “bi-curious daughter of a Lutheran pastor” 15 seconds in?), but so far Scream: the TV series actually seems pretty funny and self-aware, like Cabin in the Woods meets Sleepy Hollow meets any other MTV show with genetically blessed and generically manipulative characters.

Will you guys be giving Scream a shot?
