School calls a dad saying his daughter hit a kid, he reviews the footage and refuses to let the principal discipline her: ‘Proud of her’

Getting a midday phone call from your child’s school principal is enough to make any parent’s stomach drop. You brace to hear about a sudden fever, a playground scrape, or a stern lecture about hallway behavior.
What you definitely do not expect is hearing that your ten-year-old was forced to channel her inner action hero to survive recess. Because apparently, the adults on duty were sleeping on the job. Yet, for TikTok creator Gabe (@gabectomy), picking up the phone meant exactly that.
Gabe reportedly had to rush down to the front office to hear why his daughter had allegedly “hit a kid.” But after sitting through a wild 15-minute standoff, he turned the reprimand into a masterclass on standing up for your children against lazy, zero-tolerance school politics.
Gabe had a tense confrontation in the office with the principal
When Gabe arrived at the school, he reportedly found his daughter sitting alone in the administrative wing. He immediately gave her a three-minute clock to lay out her side of the story. The ten-year-old explained that a male student had been actively bullying and chasing her and her friends across the yard.
According to her, the bully backed her into an isolated corner and shoved her hard to the ground. Just then, she followed her dad’s golden survival rule and reached down, grabbed a rock, and chucked it right at his face before sprinting away to safety.
Knowing his daughter had never landed in disciplinary trouble before, Gabe waited for the principal to bring the official report. “Principal walks in. I look at him, I’m like, ‘All right man, give me a rundown here, because this is very out of character for her, so what’s going on?’” Gabe recalled.
Instead of relying on playground hearsay, the principal reportedly loaded up the campus surveillance camera footage to review the incident together. The recording reportedly confirmed every single detail.
“We watched the playground, and sure enough, this kid is chasing our daughter around. Gets into a corner, she grabs the only thing she can grab, she hucks it at him, hits him dead center in the face—very proud of her—and then she runs away.”
Gabe outmaneuvered the school’s policy to defend his daughter
Despite having crystal-clear footage proving undisputed self-defense, the principal allegedly fell back on the exhausted trope of blanket student discipline. He reportedly insisted that “both parties” had to be penalized under campus protocol to map out behavioral plans for the remainder of the academic year.
Gabe, however, wasn’t about to let his daughter take the fall for institutional incompetence. “He’s like, ‘Well, we have to discipline both parties; that’s how we do it.’ I’m like, ‘All right, that’s totally fine. You discipline that kid, and I’ll discipline her. Just know that it was taken care of.’”
Yet, the principal allegedly pushed back, claiming that wasn’t how they handled conflict on their watch. So, Gabe turned the interrogation right back around on the front office. Coming from a family of educators, he noted that he understands campus burdens. However, he pointed out that a fifth-grader getting cornered and attacked exposes a total failure of adult yard supervision.
“Do we want to talk about that? ‘Cause if we don’t want to talk about that, I think we discipline the kid that was the problem, and we let this be,” Gabe countered during the 15-minute debate. Faced with undeniable video evidence and a father who refused to back off, the principal eventually backed down.
By the end of the meeting, Gabe walked his daughter out with zero disciplinary marks on her record. He also managed to get a full written apology in hand and a confirmation that the bully was being permanently moved to a different classroom. Ending the video, Gabe remarked, “I will never teach her to start a fight. But I will damn sure make sure she finishes them.”
