There's no cross domain hackery or tracking voodoo, it's just some sweet jQuery animations.
Please, think of the animations.
In the meantime, enjoy the html version below. I guess. If that's your thing.
The two biggest parts to any Leia are presence, which Beharie has in spades, and the understanding that
the other characters are there to be your sidekicks. - Susana
The Dark Knight Rises taught us anything (other than “don’t get your hopes up, kid”) it’s that Anne Hathaway is a straight up bad-ass. Not only would she capture Leia’s independence and resourcefulness, Hathaway also obviously has the emotional range to play a woman who loses an entire planet’s worth of loved ones. “I dreamed a dream,” indeed.
Leia is loyal, intelligent, ballsy, and totally a Gryffindor. Luke would probably be a Hufflepuff though. Just sayin’. - Carolyn
Every single time the word “fancast” is uttered in connection to a female character, Torres’ name comes up. I’m not saying that in a judge-y way. Who
wouldn’t want Gina Torres to play literally everyone?. Just consider this me getting ahead of the curve. Gina Torres for Leia 2K14! - Rebecca
Looper. Emily Blunt’s Sara in that movie totally nailed Leia’s, “I’ve got more important things going on than whatever your deal is, so you’re going to have to get your shit together or get out of my way,” attitude. - Dan
If there’s one word which comes to mind when I think of Leia it’s “moxie” and Maisie Williams has that in spades. From her time on
Game of Thrones, where she gets into more than her fair share of trouble as Arya Stark, to her personal Vine/Instagram comedy routines, I see her embodying Leia perfectly. - Jill
Detective Amy Santiago in Fox's
Brooklyn Nine Nine is precisely why I think Fumero could have a Leia-type role down pat. Santiago is often paired with Andy Samberg's Jake Peralta, and, typically for the program, Nine Nine fleshes out both characters. Peralta's a nice guy with a solid moral stance, and his issues with maturity and self-reflection are impeding his personal development. Similarly, Santiago is fully capable of matching him professionally and socially, and her biggest problem is an obsession with emulating authority figures. Fumero plays a character that is a mix of propriety and sass that's a great start to build a rebooted Leia on. - Susana

We saved the most-anticipated for last in our unnecessary
Star Wars recasting series. There was no consensus on our Luke Skywalker picks, though a fair few of you agreed there should be a Star Wars musical from Joss Whedon on our Han Solo casting gallery. While no one could ever, ever top Carrie Fisher’s performance, here are seven women we think could come close.
