Pregnant woman tells husband she’s craving Dunkin’ donuts. Then he starts lecturing her: ‘I want a healthy baby’

Many women experience insatiable, and sometimes bizarre, cravings during pregnancy. But one woman’s husband has a shocking reaction to her request for a common treat.
In a video with over 1.2 million views, TikToker Kilee (@keylimekilee) sits in the passenger seat of the car. She tells her husband that she’s craving sugar donuts from Dunkin’ or chicken nuggets.
Her husband begins to read an excerpt from a Google search on the health of the food items. He remarks, “You need something with more nutrients.”
Kilee tells him she “doesn’t care” and insists that’s what she’s craving. He insists that if she consumes too much sugar during her pregnancy, the kid will have a “full face of acne” and look “[expletive] up.”
“I want [a] healthy baby,” he says as she makes a disgusted face. “Crave something else. Crave some [expletive] vitamins.”
Eventually, he gives in, and she gets a box of donut holes. However, she quickly spots that Dunkin’ seemingly only gave her 14 donut holes when she was expecting 25.
She captions the video, “9 weeks ago I wouldn’t had TOUCHED Dunkin.”
Do sugary pregnancy cravings actually affect the fetus?
Other expecting parents on the r/pregnancy subreddit question if their frequent sweet cravings could negatively impact their unborn child. Other parents weigh in on whether their cravings had any impact on their child.
“My baby is super healthy, eating well, gaining weight at a great clip (not too slow OR too fast), and shows no sign of any health issues beyond a small tongue tie,” one parent says, admitting to eating “giant bowls of ice cream twice a day.”
“Bruh. I survived my first 3 months pp of Dr. Pepper and Starburst jelly beans (9 bags of them). Your baby will be okay,” another jokes.
According to Northwestern Medicine, OBGYNs recommend indulging in sweet cravings in moderation. However, the occasional treat isn’t going to lead to long-term health impacts for the expecting mother or fetus. Excess intake of sugar could increase gestational weight gain, which could lead to complications during delivery.

How do viewers react to her husband’s concern?
While Kilee’s husband may have been well-intentioned, some women in the comments criticize his approach to offering her healthy snacks.
“Yeah no my pregnancy rage is PISSED for you. Especially in my first trimester with how bad my nausea was,” a viewer writes.
“Healthy baby means the mom isn’t stressed. Stop controlling her. It’s her body, her body knows what she needs. Don’t stress her,” another says.
“I’d go on a hunger strike,” a third jokes.
Others defend Kilee’s pregnancy craving for a box of donut holes and chicken nuggets.
“Pregnancy is so miserable. I can’t have deli meat, sushi, caffeine, alcohol, weed, nicotine GIVE ME MY DONUT,” one laments.
“My mom ate an entire box of girl scout cookies when she was pregnant with me. I have no health problems, have won beauty pageants,” a second writes.
However, some say they agree with her husband.
“I’m in the group of people that actually love this. He loves you and that baby!!!!” a commenter says.
