In fact, recent polls highlighted by CNN’s Harry Etene show that Melania Trump’s current rating is “historically terrible,” especially when compared to the ratings of previous First Ladies.

As previously mentioned, CNN recently discussed the First Lady, focusing on her current popularity among the American people and whether that might change in the future, and if so, in which direction. In response to this, Harry Eten stated, “I would say that the American people really don’t care for Melania Trump,” and presented statistics showing her Net Favorable ratings at a historic low of -12 points.
The data also reveals that Melania Trump’s popularity was not always negative. In May 2018, during Donald Trump’s first term, she had a positive approval rating of about 30 points. By January 2025, during Trump’s second term, her approval rating had plummeted to just 3 points. Currently, she holds a negative approval or disapproval rating, if you may say so.

Her remarks marked the first time Melania spoke so boldly on the issue, something Donald Trump has yet to do during his second term as president.
Additionally, Melania urged that she is not as closely linked to the disgraced financier and sex offender as many believe. She dismissed theories about her close friendship with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and stressed that she did not meet her husband, the President of the United States, Donald Trump through either of them, among a list of other things. She also emphasized that she is actively fighting against false information doing the rounds in public regarding her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
