Whatever ends up happening, I'm actually really excited about it. I, unintentionally, owe a lot to the Kingsman franchise and after rewatching them, I'm proud that I get to work here all because I love watching a bunch of dudes saying "manners maketh man" and using whips. 

The discussion wasn’t about the fact that WW84's protagonist was a woman or that it was directed by one; it was about a movie that had highlights and flaws and questions raised that just happened to have women at its forefront. Until it wasn’t.

Why don’t we see this type of love interest more often?

Part four of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina delivers a fun and fascinating final run.

Films may not have gotten to properly shine this year, but animated series thrived both in terms of anime and Western Animation. Considering that our own Briana Lawrence has been covering a lot on the anime side of things, I wanted to give some love to the Western Animated series I felt killed it this year. No particular order, but I stand by my top two.

When they meet again at the White House I'm not surprised that Barbara isn't willing to listen, and it's not just because she wants to keep her wish, it's because... why would she listen to Diana after everything that's happened between them up to this point? Not to mention that, as Barbara points out, Diana's criticizing her for not renouncing her wish but she's not holding herself accountable. At all.

All Din Djarin cares about is getting his son Grogu to Jedi daycare and that's pretty much it. 

Exploring Din Djarin as a character, and his relationships with Grogu, Boba Fett, Fennec, and more, is something we get to all experience together as fans.

Even with everything that went wrong, there were some really great moments buried in the mess that was this whole year.

Wonder Woman 1984 may not have been great to me and many of my colleagues, but you know what? The biggest issue is that it is part of a genre that has lately leaned heavily on spectacle, the talent of the cast, and the cult of personality that has arisen around it. Without it, there is only a lot of noise. So maybe that should be examined for the future of all comic book movies, female-led and otherwise.
