Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series is being adapted into a TV show by Battlestar Galactica‘s Ronald D. Moore for Starz, and it’s premiering August 9th. But lucky for you, lovers of burly Scottish men and time travel stories, you can watch the entire first episode of Outlander right now, right here.

If you’re not familiar with the majorly-popular Outlander series, here’s a little info on the storyline:

Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives

If you’ve read the books, what did you think of the pilot? Did it live up to your expectations? If so, you can catch new episodes out Outlander Saturdays at 9pm on Starz!
