‘I Carry an EpiPen at All Times’: New Hampshire Woman Orders From Nordstrom. She Finds Something in the Package That Should Definitely Not Be There

As a person with a food allergy, you’re probably used to taking precautions whenever you eat out at restaurants. When you’re at home scrolling and doing some online shopping, however, that’s probably the last thing on your mind.
According to one Nordstrom customer, however, maybe it shouldn’t be.
In a TikTok video that got over 46,300 views, creator Casey Clickener (@casey.clickener) showed the small but potentially dangerous items she says arrived with her clothing order.
What Did She Find Inside Her Nordstrom Package?
“How is your Saturday going?” Clickener asks at the start of the video.
She explains that she was excited to receive “happy mail” from Nordstrom after ordering a pants set for a Megan Moroney concert.
“I’m unwrapping them, and three things hit my foot,” she says.
At first, she was confused because she had only ordered one item.
“I only ordered one thing. That’s weird,” she says.
Clickener then shows the light wash jeans she ordered, calling them “wicked cute.” But the jeans were not the only thing in the package.
“Well, then I’m like, what the heck hit my foot?” she says.
She then reveals what allegedly fell out of the package: three whole peanuts still in their shells.
“I put them back in the bag with a paper towel,” she says. “Three peanuts were in the bag.”
For most shoppers, that would be strange. For Clickener, it was also scary.
“I have a severe peanut allergy,” she says. “In fact, I carry an EpiPen with me at all times.”
She says peanuts are not something she keeps in her home at all.
“These peanuts have never been in my house before,” she says. “I don’t have a single thing of peanuts in my entire house because, again, I am severely allergic to peanuts. Like, could die allergic.”
Clickener then sarcastically thanked Nordstrom for the surprise addition.
“Nordstrom was so kind to send me three peanuts in my package,” she says. “Isn’t that so nice? So thank you for the really cute jeans. But no thank you for these three peanuts. I’ll pass next time.”
How Did This Happen?
Without Nordstrom publicly explaining the situation, there is no way to know for sure how the peanuts ended up in Clickener’s package.
It could have been a warehouse mix-up, something accidentally dropped into the package during fulfillment, or an item that somehow ended up in the bag before it was sealed.
While it is rare, online shoppers have shared plenty of stories over the years about strange objects turning up inside clothing packages. People have claimed they found everything from fabric scissors to much more disturbing items in fast-fashion orders.

Commenters Were Shocked
In the comments section, viewers immediately picked up on the “packing peanuts” irony.
“Not REAL packing peanuts,” one user wrote.
Another thought the situation pointed to a bigger issue with online orders being fulfilled by stores.
“This is the problem with stores fulfilling online orders now,” they wrote. “Lack of quality control and no one is inspecting items thoroughly or checking the pockets before they ship it out.”
Another commenter joked, “They really took packing peanuts literally.”
Others focused on how dangerous the situation could have been for someone with a peanut allergy.
“As someone who also has a peanut allergy, I gasped when you showed the peanuts,” one person wrote. “Definitely contact a lawyer.”
Whether a situation like this would lead to a successful legal claim depends. Generally, a person would need to show that the company was responsible, that the incident caused actual harm or damages, and that there is evidence connecting the two.
