Hera, No! Lynda Carter Not Appearing in Wonder Woman Movie

As the immortal Stones once said: you can’t always get what you want. So go ahead and listen to that song on repeat as you read this post about how Lynda Carter apparently won’t be appearing in the new Wonder Woman movie coming out in June. This news comes via her publicist Pete Sanders, who wrote to The Washington Post on Carter’s behalf, saying that she “wishes the movie its success.”

It’s kind of a bummer, especially given movie co-star Chris Pine’s cryptic answer to whether or not Carter would be making an appearance. In an interview with E! Online earlier this month, Pine said, “If I could tell you that, I wouldn’t, but I can’t.” Why so mysterious, Pine? Is this all some conspiracy!? Is she actually going to be in the movie?

I mean, it’s not like the door is completely closed. When the movie was still just a rumor in Patty Jenkins’ eye way, way back in 2010 (does that count as “way, way back” now?), Carter answered a question about a possible cameo or appearance, saying, “If it really is something that is gratuitous I won’t do it; if it’s just for me to show up in it I wouldn’t do it. But if there is something written that they think would be appropriate then most definitely I’d consider it. I would love it.”

It’s true that filming has already begun and we even have a trailer and everything, but come on. You can totally write a little part in for Carter, can’t you? Can’t you?!
