Far-right political commentator Nick Fuentes is not your average 21st-century misogynist, and here’s why

You would think that men in the 21st century are comparatively more progressive than they were, say, ten years ago, but you are wrong. Because some of them, much like far-right, white nationalist activist and live streamer Nick Fuentes, still believe that women do not deserve basic rights.

Appearing in a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, hosted by Piers Morgan, Nick Fuentes showed everyone that it is not too difficult to be a hardcore misogynist in today’s world if you are dedicated enough. One just needs a voice, a microphone, and a platform and boom! Everyone’s ready to be brainwashed.

Fuentes thought he could do the same during the December 8 episode in which he appeared, and he succeeded to a great extent; however, he ultimately ended up becoming a joke. He did not get lauded for his chest-thumping sexist and racist comments, but instead got called out for them. The criticism didn’t only occur on the show, as his highly problematic comments found their way to social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), where people tore him apart, left, right and centre.

People called Fuentes various names, from “loser” to “pathetic.” Some even argued against giving platforms to individuals like him, emphasizing that it only boosts his popularity. Others criticized both Nick Fuentes and Piers Morgan equally, pointing out that both hold problematic views regarding women.

Among the various topics discussed online regarding Nick Fuentes’s appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, one of the most talked-about moments was when he told host Piers Morgan that he wasn’t gay but found women “very difficult to be around.” He also expressed the belief that women shouldn’t vote and should remain at home instead of working.

When Morgan confronted Fuentes about his comments, calling him a “misogynist” dinosaur, Fuentes seemed to take pride in the label, admitting it was true. He even added that he wasn’t just a dinosaur but a “fossil,” implying he had held these views for a long time. Morgan continued to challenge Fuentes on his derogatory remarks about women and at one point asked him if he had ever engaged in sexual activity, to which Fuentes replied negatively.

Morgan seized this chance to further mock him, saying that Fuentes was speaking ill of women out of frustration because they were not interested in him and not necessarily due to the fact that he believes they shouldn’t have rights.
