New York City woman tried cancelling her Club Pilates membership. She got charged $300 for five months straight
She was charged $300 for five months without her knowledge.
Cece (@ceceonthescene) from New York City felt like she needed to lock her credit card, and it unknowingly worked in her favor. She alleged on TikTok that a local Club Pilates kept billing her card, even though she cancelled her membership earlier in March 2026.
“They’ve been giving me nightmares, literally. And they’re telling me that $342 is past due, and I have no idea what they’re talking about,” Cece said. She explained that she has been trying to cancel her membership for Club Pilates but has been struggling to. She claimed that back in August, the studio told her they would no longer charge her card. Her membership was set to expire on September 14th. Instead, she allegedly had to deal with a $342 bill.
“I wish that I had never heard of this business. I wish I had never been there—I wish I had never given them my credit card information,” she said, frustrated about her experience with Club Pilates. Cece further claimed that she cancelled her membership back in March through their app. She said her credits—used to book classes—expired, and she thought it meant that her cancellation went through.
“So, then in August, I see a charge in my credit card from this Pilates studio. And I see that they have charged me every month since April, $300 a month,” Cece alleged. She said she was baffled by the supposed charges on the card. Despite the devastation she feels, Cece claims she’s been working with her bank to dispute the charges.
Dubious credit card charges from Club Pilates
“Disputes take time. So, I’ve also been communicating with the business about this, and just very nicely, for a refund,” she continued. However, Cece alleged that the company has also countered her claim, saying they have no record of her membership cancellation.
Cece said she wanted to give the studio the benefit of the doubt. But she pointed out that her Club Pilates app had no credits left, even though she was being charged $300 after cancellation. She alleged, “And then they sent me an account history that actually shows that no credits were added to my account in March.”
When she asked the studio about her lack of credits in March, Cece claimed they didn’t reply. Nevertheless, she said the email she received from the studio allegedly stated that no credits were added between February 15th and April 15th. She hopes for the studio to acknowledge the supposed error in their system so they can resolve her billing issue. Cece also hopes that they will refund her for May to September, since she hasn’t been using the membership.
“They have also stopped texting me on April 2nd. They had texted me more than once a month for every month that I was taking classes there until April,” she claimed. The lack of messages from Club Pilates also made Cece believe her membership was finally cancelled.
She doesn’t recommend this Pilates studio
Despite Cece’s disappointing experience, she said in a follow-up video that Club Pilates has finally acknowledged the cancellation of her membership. She was also told that no further charges will be placed on her credit card. Moreover, Cece claimed she was also told to disregard the $342 past-due bill. But because of her disgruntled experience, Cece still plans to write a review and caution others against the Club Pilates branch. At least the Club Pilates Cece went to was real. Meanwhile, this woman from Chicago couldn’t even find her Pilates ClassPass.
