New Jersey hairdresser accused of hiring hitman through Tinder to murder cop ex-boyfriend and his daughter
A hairdresser from New Jersey has been accused of hiring a hitman she allegedly met on Tinder to kill her ex-boyfriend and his teen daughter. Jaclyn Diiorio, 28, was indicted on Wednesday and faces two counts of using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder-for-hire.
In a federal indictment filed on September 3, it is alleged that Diiorio used her phone to try to pay a confidential informant to murder he ex and his 19-year-old daughter. The New York Post reports that the New Jersey hairdresser was arrested in Gloucester Township before authorities uncovered her plot.
Jaclyn Diiorio had allegedly been in contact with the confidential informant with whom she had been trying to organize the double murder. She met the informant, whom she believed to be a hitman, on Tinder, and between March 31 and April 3, she exchanged numerous texts and phone calls with the individual.
According to Camden County prosecutors, Diiroro revealed through the calls and texts that she wanted her ex-boyfriend and his daughter dead. She also revealed that he ex was a police officer by the name of Matthew O’Hanlon. Her relationship with O’Hanlon had ended about a month prior.
Jaclyn Diiorio met with the phony hitman
According to reports, Diiorio met with the fake hitman a couple of times. They first met on March 31 at a Wawa in Runnemede. They then met again at a Dollar General on April 4, and the hairdresser handed over $500 as a down payment. The agreement would have seen Diiorio pay the hitman multiple instalments for a total of $12,000 for the completion of the job.
However, the Tinder hitman never went through with the job, as they would ultimately inform Camden County detectives, who subsequently contacted the Philadelphia Police Department to warn them about the intended target of Diiorio’s alleged hit.
Jaclyn Diiorio was promptly arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder and one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder. She was also charged with one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance by Camden County after officers found a bottle of unlabeled pills in her home.
According to prosecutors, this was not Diiorio’s first attempt to arrange the murder of her ex-boyfriend and his daughter. She allegedly told the informant that she had been deceived in the past by previous individuals she had contacted to do the deed. She claimed they had shown her “fake pictures” of the completed contract killing.
Diiorio’s attorney, Robert Gamburg, said his client will not enter a guilty plea, arguing that the way evidence had been obtained amounted to entrapment. He claimed the informant often fed unsolicited tips to the sheriff’s department for money and that law enforcement had not monitored the conversations between Diiorio and the informant.
