James Cameron To Make New BattleBots-Type Show Robogeddon

Recommended Videos

In addition to doing a bunch of ocean-related things, James Cameron is going to be working with robots. Specifically, he’s going to be creating Robogeddon, a new dueling robots show a la BattleBots for the Discovery Channel. Details are spare at the moment, but what else do you really need to know aside from the fact that blade-wielding robots will soon return to TV and destroy each other solely for the pleasure of meatbags like us? Probably nothing, but there are a few other noteworthy folks involved.

In addition to Cameron, the producer of such shows as Survivor, The Voice, Celebrity Apprentice, and quite possibly the best reality television show ever to exist, Shark Tank, Mark Burnett will be involved. And on the side of people who have first-hand experience with televised robo-homicide (robocide?), Donald Hutson, twice a Super Heavyweight Champion of BattleBots, is confirmed as a contender. As of yet, there’s no date set for launch, but now’s as good a time as any to start building a metallic combat beast if you’re into that. A better time than most, actually. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go tape some knives to a roomba or something.
