Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed analyzes JD Vance. Then he claims the vice president is missing 1 vital trait: ‘no actual soul’
He had a lot to say

Michigan’s Senate election is set for November 3, 2026, and will pit former FBI agent and Republican candidate Mike Rogers against epidemiologist and Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Ahead of D-Day, on October 28, 2026, Sayed appeared on an episode of Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know, an interview talk show and podcast hosted by Minaj himself, and spoke about the upcoming elections.
During the episode, Sayed didn’t shy away from speaking his mind, launching scathing remarks against President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, among others. Notably, speaking about Vance, Sayed said, “Then you’ve got other people like JD Vance [clears throat] who do this thing of just becoming curs to the dumbest person in the room.” He added, “JD Vance is a smart person, but he has no actual soul, and he has no actual charisma. And so his thing is just to suck up to the strongest person in the room to do their bidding.”
Sayed’s comments about Vance came a day after Vance called him a “psychopath” before boarding Air Force 2 for an election campaign event in Detroit, according to the New York Post. Vance also accused Sayed of engaging “in the kind of explicitly anti-white racial hatred” that is “more than any Democrat running in the nation,” and called him “a guy who seems to love to traffic in racial hatred.”
Sayed charged at Trump multiple times during the interview
During Wednesday’s appearance on Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know, Sayed spoke about Trump at least twice. Notably, while speaking about bullying and those who partake in it, Sayed said, “Donald Trump is an idiot.”
Seemingly referring to Trump as a bully, Sayed said, “Whatever you think about him, he has one genius, which is the genius of getting attention, which is, because you know, his dad never gave him enough. And so he, because he was a nepo baby, because he had resources, realized quickly that he just craved for attention and then used the bullying tactics that he uses right now to get it.” He added, “But the man is an idiot. I mean, just when it comes down to it, like just a fool.”
In recent weeks, Trump and Sayed have traded a series of attacks. At a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, Trump criticized Sayed, saying, “Anyone with that record of support for jihadists would be screened and unable to get a seat on an airplane. They certainly should not give him a seat in the United States Senate,” according to NBC News.
Later in the rally, he alleged that if Sayed won Michigan’s Senate race, “he would be the only senator that will have to go through a metal detector before he’s allowed to go into the Senate.” He added, “I want him to have a metal detector.”
With only a few days left until the elections, it is safe to assume people will see more from Sayed and his Rogers in the coming days.
