Marvel Studios’ Ten-Year Anniversary Party Contained Every Superhero and They Didn’t Even Invite Me

To celebrate ten game-changing years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including successfully creating and marketing 536 superhero movies starring four different white guys named Chris, Marvel released behind-the-scenes footage of that time when they gathered every movie star in the world for an epic class photo.

Marvel Studios “The First Ten Years” Class Photo

This summoning of every famous person you’ve ever heard of to the Avengers: Infinity War lot in Atlanta happened on October 7th and was kept under wraps for a long time by the silence-inducing magicians that Marvel employs as publicists. Who was there? Oh, just some folks that Variety helpfully helps us name:

Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Chadwick Boseman, Brie Larson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Holland, Sean Gunn, Hannah John-Kamen, Zoe Saldana, Angela Bassett, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kurt Russell, Danai Gurira, William Hurt, Karen Gillan, Emily VanCamp, Tessa Thompson, Don Cheadle, Dave Bautista, Michael Peña, Anthony Mackie, Evangeline Lilly, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Frank Grillo, Letitia Wright, Laurence Fishburne, Linda Cardellini, Sebastian Stan, Ty Simpkins, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Wong, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jeff Goldblum.

Just a bunch of friends being pals. I have to say that I love the bare-bones casualness of the “class photo”—just hanging out on set, on some bleachers like it’s high school. And the behind-the-scenes footage where stars are fangirling and fanboying all over each other is pretty adorable. Even Robert Downey Jr. plays modest, like he couldn’t buy the entire state of Georgia where this is taking place and still have some money leftover to snatch up neighboring South Carolina.

Happy anniversary, Marvel! Looks like a pretty cool party. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail.
