Whoa, Back Up. Lupita Nyong’o Just Retroactively Won Comic-Con in Pink Ranger Cosplay

Did you see me at Comic Con?! #SDCC2017

It’s not always easy for celebrities to enjoy conventions in the same way that fans do, but being some of our favorite creative people, they tend to find creative ways around that. It’s always fun when they reveal what disguises they used, but this video of Lupita Nyong’o at San Diego Comic-Con last week is just the pure joy that we needed on an otherwise generally awful day.

Seriously, I defy you not to smile and laugh at Nyong’o dancing around the crowds, conspicuously pointing out her on-screen Star Wars character, and generally leaving con-goers looking bemused.

And then there’s the joy of attendees who may just now be realizing that they were standing right next to her—as indicated by some of the video’s comments—or even getting a photo op with her without even knowing it. That buddy heist movie with Rihanna can’t come fast enough. Or just give Nyong’o all the roles in all the movies, preferably ones in which she gets to do something like this Comic-Con video, because we need more of this in our lives.
