Little Girl’s Bravery In The Face Of A Lion Helps Disprove An Old Sexist Saying [VIDEO]

i'll just leave this here

I once had the good fortune to see a male lion up close and personal like this. It was a magical and surreal experience for a life-long animal (especially cat) lover but I have to admit, I was a little big scared even though there was a thick layer of plexiglass between us. If the lion in front of me did anything remotely close to what he did to this 3-year-old girl I might have been scarred for life. Hit the jump to watch what happens and hear one male news anchor’s complete ignorance on sexism.

Here is the video as I originally saw it, from ABC World News Now, of a little girl named Sofia at the Wellington Zoo in New Zealand. Listen closely to what the male anchor says and how the female anchor responds.

“I would have run like a little girl and wetted myself,” he says. And his fellow anchor is like…

And we’re like…

And all we can say now is…

Now that we’ve got that ridiculousness out of the way, here’s the unedited footage from Sofia: The Lion Tamer’s parents.
