Kerry Kennedy Recalls Brother RFK Jr’s Bizarre Stunt at a Children’s Party, Questioning His Fitness for Any Federal Health Role
A public safety concern.

Kerry Kennedy just dropped another wildlife-related story about her brother, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., raising questions about whether he’s fit to hold a federal health role. During a recent interview, she recounted a wild incident where he allegedly released a snake into a pool full of kids at a children’s party. The story is as bizarre as it is concerning, and it’s making people wonder just how much judgment he’s bringing to the table.
The supposed incident happened about 25 years ago at Kerry’s daughter’s birthday party. She recalled that she had spotted a snake in the backyard and, knowing her brother’s love for animals, called him for help. According to Reality Tea, Kerry said RFK Jr. showed up with his infant son, Aiden, in one arm and a pillowcase in the other. Without hesitation, he grabbed the snake and stuffed it into the pillowcase while still holding his child.
Kerry called the moment “a little scary,” and it’s easy to see why. But the situation only got weirder from there. Instead of safely containing the snake, she said RFK Jr. pulled it back out of the pillowcase to show the kids at the party. The snake, which had reportedly chomped on his hand, was now wriggling around in front of a group of children.
RFK Jr. wasn’t done
Kerry added that after that, RFK Jr. allegedly grabbed a vole – a small rodent – and tossed it into the bag with the snake. The kids screamed, but he didn’t stop there. He took the snake to his house down the street, where a bunch of kids were swimming in the pool, and released it into the water.
Kerry’s story paints a startling picture. She said, “This is somebody who, on the one hand, has a fascination with nature. But on the other hand, has a great lack of judgment when it comes to the safety and care of children.” Her question was pointed: “And so, is this the person who you want running the HHS?”
This isn’t the first time RFK Jr.’s interactions with animals have raised eyebrows. Just weeks before Kerry’s interview, he posted a video of himself handling two snakes that were mating on Dr. Mehmet Oz’, Administrator of the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services, porch. According to PEOPLE, he held them up by their tails, bare-handed, for the camera to see. It’s the kind of stunt that makes you wonder if he’s more interested in shock value than safety.
His cousin Caroline Kennedy has also weighed in on his unusual relationship with animals. In January 2025, she accused him of putting baby chickens and mice into a blender to feed to his hawks. The pattern here is hard to ignore. RFK Jr. seems to have a habit of prioritizing his own curiosity over the well-being of others, whether it’s animals or children.
Kerry has been a long-time critic of her brother’s politics
She has often criticized RFK Jr.’s political views and alliance with the current administration. Her decision to share this story now feels like a deliberate attempt to highlight his lack of judgment, especially as he is in a role where public health and safety are paramount. Kerry’s take of the bizarre encounter begs the question: If RFK Jr.’s can’t be trusted to handle a snake responsibly around kids, how can he be trusted to make decisions that affect millions of people?
The Department of Health and Human Services isn’t just another government agency. It’s responsible for overseeing everything from disease control to food safety. The idea that someone with a history of reckless behavior around children and animals could be in charge of such critical areas is unsettling.
Kerry presents her story as a public safety concern
The story has drawn renewed attention to RFK Jr.’s well-documented history of unusual wildlife encounters, which have often generated public discussion and controversy. Kerry’s account raises questions about safety judgment in such situations. RFK Jr. has long described himself as an avid outdoorsman with a strong interest in nature and animals. Supporters tend to view these stories as reflections of his adventurous personality, while critics argue they demonstrate poor judgment.
The episode has prompted debate about the standards of personal conduct expected from senior public health officials. Whether this type of behavior should be considered relevant to holding a federal health position remains a matter of public discussion.
