Because one speedster just isn’t enough, The CW has announced that Keiynan Lonsdale (Insurgent) has been cast in the role of Wally West, aka Kid Flash, on The Flash in the upcoming season!
It’s still unclear as to how Lonsdale’s Wally will be introduced, though in the comics he’s generally portrayed as Iris’ nephew who eventually takes on Barry Allen’s mantle. As for the production’s feelings about the casting, Comics Alliance reports that Flash EP, Andrew Kreisberg had this to say:
Just like when we met Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.
