What the Hell is Going On in These Iron Man 3 Set Photos?

Meanwhile...

So, Iron Man 3‘s been filming for a while now, and pretty much all us non-Comic-Con goers have gotten to see of the film so far are a bunch of set photos telling us pretty vague things about costumes and the like. Well, some more set photos have been circling around our beloved interwebs, and they are, to say the least, befuddling. Some may even say confusing. Some may even say flabbergasting.

The third in the Iron Man franchise has been filming in Wilmington, North Carolina since May, and recently photogs snapped a bunch of on-set photos of a bunch of people hanging from wires in various positions that seem quite uncomfortable.

It begs the question: What in the name of all that is Tony Stark and beautiful is going on here?

Our best guess is that these people are…falling? Maybe? Probably?

Oh, and there’s also video footage, although it’s not exactly enlightening:

Whatever it is, it appears as if it’s going to be part of quite the aerial sequence once the film’s all put together.
