Avengers: Infinity War Will Change the Avengers Forever Times Infinity No Take-Backsies

Marvel Studios exec Jeremy Latcham hinted that the end of Avengers: Infinity War would bring major changes to the Avengers team. In fact, he said that this would probably be the last chance these Avengers get to fight together.

Specifically, in an interview with Collider, he said, “I think it definitely is an end to some version of the team that we’ve come to know as The Avengers. Who knows exactly what is going to happen yet in that film, but I think this version of that team–and I think we start to hint at it at the end of Age Of Ultron–will be evolving.”

And really, don’t pretend you didn’t see this coming. As anyone who reads or is acquainted with comic books knows, sometimes you pick up a book and it’s just got a completely different character on it with the same title. These hero names are often just mantles–as “just” as a mantle can be, I guess–so it’s only right that the movies parallel the way their source material works. It really was just bound to happen. As much as Chris Evans wants to keep playing Cap, or as much as anyone wants to stick around as a superhero, the time just comes where people have got to move on.
