Let’s Calculate the Hype for The Hunger Games and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, With Actual Numbers

Recommended Videos

We all know people are excited to watch the conclusion to the The Hunger Games film franchise, as well Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but according to Piedmont Media Research, the level of hype about those two films, particularly The Hunger Games, has reached record levels. In a poll of 3,000 individuals representing average moviegoers, Piedmont found that excitement about the conclusion to The Hunger Games series has earned the highest rating in the five-year history of their research.

The Force Awakens came in second place for this year, although it only came in third overall in terms of excitement levels about films researched by Piedmont. The hype that people felt about Avengers: Age of Ultron last year was higher than how they feel about The Force Awakens this year, leaving Age of Ultron in second place overall. (Personally, I hope that these two upcoming films easily surpass Age of Ultron in terms of excitement levels felt while viewing the film.)

Does this research line up with what you and your friends feel hyped up about this fall? Which movies have you marked on your calendars as “must-see” viewing?
