It seems that after Iran, Donald Trump’s new enemy is his umbrella, yes, you read that right, the same thing meant to protect you from scorching heat and heavy rains. In a video going viral on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), the current U.S. president is seen struggling to handle an umbrella before boarding Air Force One. While struggling to close an umbrella is something almost everyone has experienced at least once, the fact that he doesn’t even try before giving up has people furious.
In the viral video, after climbing the stairs of Air Force One, Trump, who presumably tried to close the umbrella, simply leaves it at the aircraft’s door. Someone behind him picks it up, closes it, and hands it to someone inside. Many have lashed out at Trump, calling him privileged and making pointed remarks about his wealthy background, suggesting that his demeanor in this situation stems from that.
People are criticizing Trump’s umbrella handling skills
There have been many things Donald Trump has done that have become topics of discussion among Americans. While some are more serious than others, this time, the headline-maker isn’t that deep. It’s simply how he handles his umbrella, or perhaps doesn’t handle it.
As mentioned before, in a clip circulating on social media, especially X, Trump can be seen leaving his umbrella behind at the door of Air Force One before entering. The video hasn’t gone over well with netizens, who see it as an example of his entitled behavior. Some have even called him unfit to be President of the United States, claiming that how he handles a simple umbrella reflects how he manages America, which many believe he is not doing well.

Talking about Donald Trump being unfit to be President, on Saturday, he attended a UFC match alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio. For those unfamiliar, this was the same day U.S. Vice President JD Vance and other key American officials were negotiating with Iran in Pakistan to reach a ceasefire deal after over a month of attacks from both sides in a war initiated by the United States on February 28, 2026.
Trump’s presence at the UFC event has also faced criticism, much like his umbrella handling skills. Many say Trump is insensitive for enjoying a UFC fight while negotiations on one of the most critical issues between Iran and the U.S. are underway in a different part of the world. Others believe he is indifferent to the consequences of his actions, as he partakes in recreational activities with little concern.
