“The Trailer of Doom”: Robert Downey Jr. Summons the Trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ at CinemaCon

CinemaCon closed with the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday section of Disney’s Presentation. And yes, the crowd did demand to watch the trailer twice.
Kevin Feige got on stage to give us what we’ve been waiting for: Our first look at Doomsday. Joined by the Russo Brothers, the creative team explained why they brought back our beloved Robert Downey Jr., who then walked out to The Rolling Stone’s “Sympathy For the Devil.” But they also knew what everyone was waiting for and didn’t hesitate.
The trailer itself was a bit of a broken look into where our beloved heroes are and it doesn’t look like anyone is particularly happy right now. Well, at least Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) stood next to each other for one brief moment. Maybe their copyright issues are finally solved. Below, I’ll describe part of the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.
Opening on a broken “Xavier’s School” sign, the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday features some of the most existing moments for all our favorite characters. We get shots of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom before Chris Hemsworth’s Thor talks about his time with the Avengers. The heroes he lost, the threats that scared him, and all through it, the heroes we love are joining together and fighting alongside one another. Well, maybe.
There is a Yelena on Yelena fight. Think about it, you’ll get it. But with shots of Channing Tatum’s Gambit and other members of our beloved X-Men, there is truly something for every fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Including seeing some of your favorite Avengers back in action, especially one who is worthy of his screen time.
This is what the MCU has always been leading towards
When fans saw the chairs and realized just how big Avengers: Doomsday was going to be, it was clear that the MCU was always leading to this moment. With every rights issue and acquisition, we’re finally seeing our favorite heroes together as it has always been in the comics. It is emotional seeing Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and the Fantastic Four walking into a scene with members of the Avengers and quickly cutting to Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart).
I’m not going to ruin the trailer for fans because it was emotional seeing character’s I’ve been waiting for together. If you want to know more, you can definitely Google a full breakdown but I think everyone should experience the magic of the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday when it is released.
And now, we just have a few months to wait until the Avengers are back. And maybe better than ever?
