He Found His iPod Misplaced in His Homestay Room. He Had a Real-Life ‘Obsession’ Case All Along: ‘My Lovely Panda’
He didn't ask the One Wish Willow for this, but a girl started following him everywhere anyway.
Jonathan Fields (@jonathan77424) attended a Japanese immersion program in Osaka. During his stay, Fields allegedly had an unsettling encounter with a girl, mirroring the events of the hit horror thriller Obsession.
“In Japan, they tell you not to have a room on the first floor, because somebody could just come right in,” Fields explained on TikTok. He had to homestay with a family during the program. Fields lived on the first floor, while the family lived on the second floor.
“Maybe five or ten times, I found evidence that somebody had been in my room,” Fields said. He noticed his things would be misplaced. At times, he also found the door open when he had left it closed. Fields initially thought it was his homestay mom coming into his room to tidy up or checking up on his activities.
“My iPod was just out on the bed, and it kind of made me angry,” Fields said. He joked that the incident had happened a long time ago, since he still owned an iPod back then. Nevertheless, Fields felt like his boundaries were crossed, assuming that his homestay mom snooped on his iPod.
“Remember this detail. This is important later,” he warned. Then Fields spoke of the friends he made during the program. One girl, whom he nicknamed “Fiona,” stood out. Although Fields said she was well-liked, she came off as a “goofball.”
“She was kinda goth. She had skin-tight black jeans, and black boots, and she wore a black leather jacket. Her hair was black, nails were black,” Fields described. In contrast, he was a tall white man who often played basketball and stuck to wearing his flip-flops. They were different people. Nevertheless, Fields mentioned that he used to be teased about Fiona. Wherever he was, she followed close by.
Signs of stalking
“Even though I really, really liked this other girl, and I’m going on dates with her and seeing her, people are constantly teasing me—that I’m dating Fiona,” Fields said. Eventually, Fields talked to his friend about a suspicion he had—that his homestay mom was going into his room to look through his stuff.
Then his friend joked, “Wouldn’t it be really funny if it was Fiona that was coming into your room?” Fields said no, and he felt uncomfortable about the possibility. He later asked his homestay mom if she had been going into his room, and she said no. The woman said she wanted to respect Fields’ privacy, so she doesn’t go into his room.
“Then the girl I’m going on dates with completely ghosts me,” Fields says. He had no hard feelings, thinking she was already out of his league anyway. But he continued, “Rumor around the school is that Fiona threatened her. I still haven’t put everything together.”
A real-life ‘Obsession’ case
Fields was eating bamboo rice at the cafeteria one day. Fiona decided to sit with him for a chat. “I always see you eating that bamboo rice. I’m going to call you Little Mr. Panda,” she allegedly said.
Fields claimed Fiona started talking about music, and he found her tastes odd. He said, “It’s music that a big, pretentious, white dude would be interested in, like De La Soul, and Black Starr, and Mobb Deep.” When he found out about her music preferences, everything clicked into place for Fields. His misplaced iPod and the alleged break-ins may not be a coincidence, and Fields was starting to feel freaked out. Fiona later said she needed to leave, but then she allegedly grabbed his face with a vice-like grip on the chin.
“My lovely panda,” Fiona allegedly called Fields, in what he described as a baby voice. Fields was horrified, saying, “She’s going to kill me and wear my face.” Being followed to a parking lot by a stranger was one woman’s nightmare scenario in Florida, but Fields was allegedly stalked by someone he knew. He said that he has more to share, but he has not yet posted an update.
