Mexican lawyer Asher Silva Vargas recently heard about the size of the Guinness World Record for largest collection of Harry Potter memorabilia and probably chuckled indulgently. That’s how much bigger his Harry Potter collection is than the competition. And if that isn’t the kind of moment that every nerd secretly hopes for, I don’t know what is.

Vargas told reporters that friends and family encouraged him to apply to have his collection considered for the World Record after finding out that the current record stood at 807 pieces, while his contains more than three thousand. His collection began simply; he would pick up a Harry Potter memento here and there, as they appealed to him. But once his haphazard purchases could no longer be contained in a single room he decided to approach the collection in a more methodical way. His hoard includes action figures, trading cards, wands, plushies, games, books, brooms, clothing, and posters and was assembled over the past fourteen years. It’s been officially numbered at 3,097 pieces.

Mr. Vargas, you should definitely consider getting a vault at Gringotts! Or just go on the Gringotts ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Seriously, it’s incredible and I did it like four times last week.

She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
