Woman decides to surprise boyfriend by tagging along on Paris trip. His reaction has people cringing: ‘I wish I could break up with you for him’

Surprising your boyfriend at the airport sounds like the kind of thing that belongs in a rom-com. Unless, of course, the “surprise” is crashing what he thought was a father-son trip to Paris.

One man thought he was about to embark on a special senior getaway with his dad. Then his girlfriend filmed herself revealing that she and his mom were secretly joining the trip.

His reaction? Stunned silence and a polite hug while his soul appeared to process several emotions at once.

The internet immediately chose violence, accusing her of hijacking a milestone trip. Even after she added context, viewers were still busy holding a candlelight vigil for the itinerary he thought he had. 

What Happened Before He Embarked on His Trip?

A joint TikTok account has recently come under fire for a seemingly innocent post. Jaedin and Jack (@jaedinandjack) present themselves on their account as 18-year-olds high school sweethearts.

In the viral clip, it’s Jaedin who does the filming, where she reveals herself joining Jack’s senior trip. The clip gained almost 3 million views in just a handful of days, and received so much backlash that it was even taken down for a couple of days before being unarchived.

Now, it stands with zero comments, a testament to a lesson painfully learnt. The clip begins with her talking to the camera and telling viewers she’s about to surprise Jack at the airport.

“Jack thinks he’s headed for a five-day trip to Paris,” she narrates, “but what he doesn’t know is that both me and his mom are coming along as an added surprise.”

The camera follows Jaedin through the airport, with Jaedin saying she can’t wait to see his reaction. She pops up beside him, and he looks surprised to see her. She tells him she’s gonna tag along on his trip. He asks if she’s serious, and when she confirms it, he just stands, speechless.

Jack stays motionless for a few seconds before he breaks into a grin and seems to believe it. He then hugs Jaedin. 

The Aftermath

The internet almost immediately turned on Jaedin as soon as the clip went viral. Many believe that she “ruined” not only a boys’ trip with his father, but his senior trip as a whole. As mentioned earlier, the comments for the original clip have been removed, but many were pressing Jack to break up with Jaedin in her recent video.

Countless viewers went as far as to hope he “found someone better.” After unarchiving the clip, Jaedin edited the caption with more information. In it, she reveals it was also a birthday trip. Because of this, his parents thought it would be nice if everyone joined.

Jaedin also shares that after the Paris trip, Jack then “leaves on his mission to serve the lord and people of Arizona. So his parents thought he would enjoy getting to spend the extra time with me before he is off.”  Therefore, it didn’t seem to be Jaedin’s idea to tag along.

Viewers Swarm the Most Recent Post

Despite turning off comments for the viral clip, Jaedin recently posted a video from their trip to Paris. It’s a short and simple clip about croissants and is filmed at the airport and in front of the Eiffel Tower. Viewers are quick to flock to this clip’s comment section since they can’t access the original post.

One of the top comments with over 1,400 likes states, “omg I feel so sorry for him.” 

Another says, “His a young adult man, maybe he wanted to try solo travelling. Not to cheat, not to do anything sinister, but to try and have some independence and see the world uninfluenced.”

One viewer claims, “Girl let him breathe.”

Lastly, one viewer says, “he definitely wanted to experience that by himself. so that got ruined.”
