Gina Torres, of Firefly fame (not that we need to remind anyone of that around here), has just joined the illustrious voiceover cast of Star Wars Rebels, which is a canonical Star Wars cartoon spin-off that should already be on every fan’s must-watch list. The scene above, in which Torres’ new character, bounty hunter Ketsu Onyo, faces off against Sabine Wren (voiced by Tiya Sircar) manages to straddle the line between gripping suspense and light-hearted family-friendly fare, as this show so often does. If you like that scene, you will probably like this whole show.
Star Wars Rebels has been quietly diversifying the Star Wars universe bit by bit. Recall, for example, that Sarah Michelle Gellar joined the cast this season as an Imperial Inquisitor. Here’s what Gina Torres’ new character looks like without her mask, by the way:
