The layman is most familiar with MRIs, or magnetic resonance imaging, as a tool used to scan the severity of a brain or bodily injury — or, in more severe circumstances, as a cancer test — but they’re regularly used for research purposes like psych studies, or simply messed around with by bored researchers.

Redditor Junglistandy has alerted us to a series of beautiful, animated MRIs of fruits: A pineapple, an orange, and a cluster of bananas. They have to be seen to be believed:
