Freida Pinto joins an already star-studded cast in the Andy Serkis-helmed Jungle Book: Origins.

Pinto’s role isn’t defined quite yet, but she’ll be in one of the live action roles opposite the animated cast. This cast includes Serkis himself as Baloo, Benedict Cumberbatch as Shere Khan (because of course),  Christian Bale as Bagheera (“where’s Rache–I mean, Mowgli?”), and Cate Blanchett as Kaa (aka The Curious Case Of Oh My God That’s A Killer Python).

The motion capture-meets-live action film is aiming for an October 2016 release. With a description like that, thoughts of Avatar immediately spring to mind. No, not that Avatar. The “unobtainium, wait-isn’t-this-FernGully” Avatar. That one.
