‘That’s why I eat at home’: Florida woman takes a bite of Buffalo Wild Wings chicken tender. Then she looks inside

The chicken tenders looked cooked. It was crispy on the outside, and there was no obvious reason to think anything was wrong with it. Then a Florida girl took a bite.

Her godmother, who posts on TikTok as @bostonnprincess, said the girl complained that the chicken was unusually chewy while they were eating at Buffalo Wild Wings in Brandon, Florida. When the girl showed the tender to her family, they pulled it apart and found raw chicken inside.

The creator posted the video of the tenders last week with the caption, “POV: Buffalo Wild Wings serves your baby raw meat.” The clip quickly spread across TikTok, with viewers reacting to the visibly uncooked chicken and questioning how it made it onto the plate.

The problem followed her to school

The creator’s next update made the situation more serious. She said her goddaughter became nauseous and vomited at school, so her family picked her up. Later, sharing a voicemail from the school nurse explaining what happened.

The nurse said the girl came to the office feeling nauseous, drank some water, and rested for a while before the school contacted her family. The creator said her goddaughter would see a doctor and that the family would continue monitoring her symptoms. She has not said that a doctor determined the raw chicken caused the illness.

The Buffalo Wild Wings location’s general manager, whom the creator identified as Brianna, also called her after the video gained attention. According to the creator, Brianna apologized and refunded the family’s meal, but the creator told her that the money was no longer the primary concern.

The creator said she appreciated the manager’s response and was keeping her updated about the girl’s condition. She also said she had emailed Buffalo Wild Wings’ corporate office.

Then someone tried to explain what happened

Someone in the comments claimed to work at the Brandon location and said staff pulled the tenders from the fryer before the timer went off. They also claimed the restaurant had been busy and short-staffed that day.

The creator shared a screenshot of the comment in another video, taking issue with the way the person joked about what happened. She said there was nothing funny about her goddaughter getting sick after eating the chicken.

Another commenter questioned whether the screen shown in the comment actually showed that the restaurant was busy. They also said restaurant staff should check the chicken before serving it. The creator thanked them and said she didn’t know what the screen meant. Despite the advice, the creator has not confirmed that the commenter actually worked at the restaurant, so the claim remains unverified.

As reported by BroBible, Florida health officials inspected the Brandon location on July 1, before the incident. Inspectors issued a warning and cited three violations, then returned on July 9 and found that the restaurant had addressed them. Nothing in those records establishes what happened with the family’s order.

Viewers think this should go to court

The comments quickly moved from “that’s disgusting” to “get a lawyer.” Viewers have repeatedly told the creator to sue Buffalo Wild Wings, particularly after she shared the school nurse’s voicemail and said her goddaughter had been vomiting.

There is a reason the medical side of the story matters if the family does consider legal action. Finding raw chicken in a restaurant meal does not automatically create a successful lawsuit. A potential claim could depend on whether the restaurant was negligent and whether the family can document that the meal caused an illness or other damages.

So far, the creator has said her goddaughter became nauseous and vomited after eating the tender, but she has not said that a doctor linked the symptoms to the chicken. That distinction could become important if the family decides to pursue the matter beyond the restaurant’s apology and refund.

For now, the creator says she is continuing to monitor her goddaughter and follow up with Buffalo Wild Wings.
