Florida man hires an Etsy witch to help him land a job. But five days later, he’s telling her to ‘chill’: ‘I’m a human being’

Job hunting is not easy, especially when the current job market evokes a feeling of hopelessness for job seekers. Perhaps that’s why one man in Orlando, Florida, decided he needed a more mystical intervention on Etsy in the hopes of landing a job before the year is up, since submitting hundreds of applications seems to not be cutting it anymore.
William Rath (@willian.rath), a former safari driver turned law graduate, shared his experience hiring an Etsy witch (yes, a witch on Etsy that offers tarot readings and spellcasting) in a bid to increase his chances of getting his job applications accepted, and it might seem like it’s working based on his video.
“Guys, the Etsy witch needs to chill,” Rath told viewers in a video, which has since gained over a million views on TikTok. According to Rath, it had been five days since he consulted with an Etsy witch to help “get me a job,” but now he’s asking the very same witch to slow down on the mystical forces—all because his job hunting was allegedly going a little too well.
Rath says he’s getting interviews back-to-back
Rath claimed that after his consultation, his schedule quickly filled up with job interviews, making it a bit challenging to keep up. “I just finished one interview,” Rath said. “I’m like, ‘Great, only two more left.’ I just got three text messages. I now have three more interviews.”
Despite the busy schedule, Rath emphasized that he was grateful to have received so many job interviews, although he admitted to feeling exhausted since each interview required preparation. “But I’m a human being. I’m tired,” Rath said. “I prepare for these. There’s only so many iced coffees I can get per interview.” He later added that he might just text the Etsy witch to “cool” it down for the week if the influx of interviews keeps up.
Speaking to BroBible, Rath said his followers “jokingly” told him to hire an Etsy witch, and he chose to employ the services of content creator MysticTarotGuide (@mystictarotguidee) when she was recommended. And no, he didn’t actually ask the witch to cast a spell. Rather, he went with a tarot reading to learn when he would land a role in either marketing or law.
While it remains unknown if his sudden interview invitations were a direct result of MysticTarotGuide’s mystic prowess, Rath believes he is now “demonstrating a confidence that I did not have before,” per the outlet. Rath isn’t the only one who sought out help through otherworldly means, as a woman claimed she also landed a job interview after hiring an Etsy witch.
Etsy witches have viewers considering hiring one
Viewers, whether an Etsy witch actually works or not, were quick to ask Rath for the witch he hired. “WHO IS YOUR ETSY WITCH ?” one commented. Another poked fun at Rath’s good fortune, saying, “My steak is too juicy, my lobster is too buttery.” While one felt he should leave a review for the witch’s services: “You better leave her a 5 star review once you get that job offer.”
Others shared their own experiences with mystical intervention. “I hired an Etsy witch after u talked about it and now I have 4 interviews in 1 day,” a comment read. Some gave applicants real-world advice for handling interviews: “Having interviews actually makes you look in demand and gives you leverage, so you shouldn’t be scared to tell them! Just be honest and word it really well for benefit.”
When asked if he has plans to continue hiring Etsy witches given his job hunting success, Rath said this might be the only time he would employ such a tactic, as “spell-stuff isn’t for me.”
