Elon Musk is casually supporting imperial plans to take over Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran
Cheering on destabilization of entire regions like a fun afternoon hobby for Musk.

If you thought Elon Musk only pickles his brain in “anti-woke” discourse on social media, think again. Our favorite billionaire free speech absolutist has decided his next project is fueling imperial takeovers by Marco Rubio.
Elon Musk seems to have a lot of free time for a man supposedly running five companies. In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Musk took a break from his usual schedule of posting unfunny memes. Instead, he endorsed Marco Rubio to become the President of Venezuela, Governor of Cuba, and bizarrely, the Shah of Iran. It’s a bold vision. But only if bold means a total fever dream of imperialism dressed up in a mid-tier X post.
After the US operation on Venezuela that captured President Maduro, Musk responded to a post showing a stiff Rubio, captioned:
“Rubio realizing he’s going to be president of Venezuela, governor of Cuba, and the Shah of Iran.”
To this, Musk replied, “I support this.” Clearly, his slow-motion descent into Bond-villainy is getting wild. But hilariously, Rubio looks like a terrified child who just realized his teacher assigned three chapters of homework due tomorrow. Except in this case, the homework is regime change in three different time zones.
Users bash Elon Musk for his unfunny post
The internet was quick to call out the blatant absurdity of the post. The GOP propaganda machine is in high gear, and the world’s richest man is greasing the machinery. But there is something profoundly unsettling about watching the international order being treated like a game.
One user aptly noted that Rubio looks like he has far too much on his “little Marco” shoulders. Another mocked Musk’s “imperial maxing,” as if dismantling nations is a trend for tech bros bored with science. One user also reminded the billionaire that he can’t actually collect sovereign nations like they are rare Pokemon cards.
It’s troubling to see someone with this reach treat regime change so lightly. Even sadder that the international order is influenced by people with this mindset.
But on a more serious note, Musk’s response was slammed as a clear violation of basic global norms. It is shameful that a post suggesting the subversion of multiple foreign governments is met with a “100” emoji from a man whose reach is virtually unmatched. It’s a loud, proud, and completely unhinged endorsement of global chaos.
America is watching a transition from subtle political manoeuvring to “caught in 4K” imperialist fantasies in real time. It would be funny if the stakes weren’t so incredibly high. But instead, we’re left watching the elite high-five over the prospect of “regime change.” Meanwhile, the rest of the world looks on in collective disbelief and sits helpless.
