Dreamworks’ Trolls Will Star Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake

Oh hey, remember that Trolls movie that we were all confused about? The idea of a Trolls movie appeals to me as much as a PEZ movie, to be completely honest, but the cast might change my mind (and by cast I mean Anna Kendrick).

Justin Timberlake will voice the lead character, Branch, a survivalist Scandinavian troll “who hides his surprising true colors.” Anna Kendrick plays a troll called Princess Poppy. It was reported that Jason Schwartzman and ChloĂ« Grace Moretz would star back in 2012 but it seems the decision to change Trolls to a musical also meant changing the casting.

Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn are co-directors, and Gina Shy will produce. The three worked on Shrek Forever After together, which might give you an idea of what to expect.

Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians) also said it’d be partially based on a Terry Pratchett novel? Can JT and Kendrick’s voices make Troll dolls less horrifying?
