Donald Trump Got Questioned About Iranian Schoolchildren’s Deaths, but He Dismissed Them as Outdated
Out of sight out of mind

A video currently circulating on X (formerly Twitter) featuring United States President Donald Trump has led many to call him “insensitive” for his comments in it. The clip is from an interaction Trump had with a member of the media during a press event at the G7 summit held last week in France .
In this video, a journalist asked Trump if he would hold any people from his administration accountable for their actions in Iran, including the alleged killing of several schoolchildren that occurred when the US dropped a bomb on a school during the first day of its attack on Iran. Trump, in response to this question, first remarks that it was not the right time to be asking it. Additionally, he said the incident happened a long time ago and that perhaps he isn’t the one the media person should be asking.
Donald Trump refuses to answer questions about deceased Iranian schoolchildren
In a video that’s been doing the rounds on X, Donald Trump refused to answer questions about the death of Iranian schoolchildren, which, according to The Guardian, was caused by the direct effects of the U.S. waging war on Iran.
When asked by a reporter if he would hold members of his administration accountable for these children’s deaths, Trump responded firmly, “No.” He then said, “If it…was a fault…you know, that’s under investigation.” He also found it “strange” that the reporter would ask him such a question “at this date,” given that he was discussing an incident that happened “a long time ago,” and added, “nobody did that on purpose.” Trump then shifted the topic by highlighting some past atrocities committed by Iran, stating, “I guess you’d have to say about them, what about the thousands of soldiers they blew up when they opened their car door? What about the thousands of people that were killed by Iran?”
Trump asks to reach out to Pete Hegseth for Iran questions
During the same interaction with the media personality mentioned earlier, Donald Trump also encouraged him to direct questions about Iran to the U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth.
After stating that he wouldn’t hold anyone in his administration responsible for the deaths of more than a hundred schoolchildren in Iran on the first day of U.S. attacks, Trump said Pete Hegseth would be the best person to answer questions related to the incident. He also mentioned that the investigation into the deaths was ongoing, and that he might have a report ready by the next day, but later clarified that the matter was still under investigation.
