Adorable German Hexapod Crawler Bot Goes on an Adventure!

The folks over at the German Aerospace Center, or the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR), have been showing off their robotics division with a new video featuring the rather cute hexapod Crawler. Designed as a testbed for vision-based navigation systems, the Crawler is shown here going on a little adventure around the DLR offices, encountering some of the other advanced robotic denizens. Along the way he meets Rollin’ Justin, the ball-catching, coffee-preparing robot, who seems to be looking quite well these days. He also runs into our old friend, the super-resistant Hand-Arm-System — who is still being assaulted with hammers.

True, it’s a completely anthropomorphized little video, but just look at this little guy! Forget all those creepy human-ish robots, this is the kind of robot I’d like to hang out with. See the full video, in all its six-legged glory, below.
