Chipotle customer orders a salad and asks for dressing. Then she is handed a cup with almost nothing inside: ‘I thought it was a joke’
A little too little

Getting enough salad dressing shouldn’t require repeated requests. Yet one Chipotle customer found herself asking for more after receiving a portion that barely seemed worth serving. What started as a quick stop for food quickly became a frustrating experience.
Restaurants have faced complaints about shrinking portions, but customers expect employees to fix an order when something is missing. This woman thought it was a simple mistake. However, the replacement only made her more confused.
TikTok creator Kelsey Greenhill (@kelseygreenhill) shared her experience at a Chipotle in Connecticut after a work meeting. She ordered a salad and requested dressing, but what she received made her question the restaurant’s serving sizes. Her video has attracted more than 5,100 views.
That didn’t make things better
Greenhill began her video by explaining that she has always been a loyal Chipotle customer. “You guys, I am a die hard Chipotle girly,” she declared, adding that she has defended the restaurant chain since day one.
She had been traveling home from a work meeting when hunger prompted her to stop at the restaurant. After ordering a salad, she requested a container of dressing. However, the amount inside was so small that she assumed something had gone wrong.
“I, like, thought it was a joke,” Greenhill recalled. She told the employee, “This one’s spilled, sir,” before requesting another container.
According to Greenhill, the worker responded, “Oh, you need another one?” She explained that the original container was practically empty and needed replacing. However, the next portion didn’t seem much better.
As she held up the containers for viewers, Greenhill pointed out that one had slightly more dressing than the others. Another contained almost nothing. “Are you f*king kidding me?” she exclaimed while recounting the exchange.
The experience left her wondering whether employees were intentionally serving such small portions or whether something else had happened. “Like, is this the serving size,” she questioned, struggling to understand why the containers were barely filled.
Her frustration was particularly noticeable because she repeatedly emphasized how much she liked the chain. “If you know me, you know this about me,” Greenhill explained, referring to her loyalty to Chipotle.
However, even that loyalty had its limits. “This is, like, unacceptable. This is horrible. Like, get it together, Chipotle,” she complained.
She captioned the TikTok, “@Chipotle this is seriously so embarrassing. Or am I embarrassing?”
Apparently, she wasn’t alone
The comment section suggested Greenhill wasn’t the only customer frustrated with Chipotle’s dressing portions. One person, who identified themselves as a manager, claimed the containers should hold considerably more dressing. “okay even as a manager that’s not okay it’s supposed to be 2oz,” the commenter wrote.
Others questioned why the restaurant seemed so reluctant to provide more. “Rationing like we are in an apocalypse,” one viewer joked. “No they act like it’s gold it’s insane,” another remarked.
Some customers claimed they had encountered the same problem during their own visits. “wait my last three orders were like that. I dont really eat there anymore,” one person shared.
One viewer suggested that employees might be limiting portions to avoid preparing additional dressing. “report that store they are clearly rationing so they don’t have to be bothered to make more,” the commenter wrote.
One viewer also criticized the unnecessary plastic waste. “What a waste of plastic containers at that,” they wrote.
According to Chipotle’s published nutrition information, a standard serving of its Chipotle-Honey Vinaigrette is two fluid ounces and contains 220 calories. The dressing is commonly served in four-ounce plastic containers, meaning a full serving would fill approximately half the container. That makes the nearly empty portions Greenhill displayed particularly questionable.
