Boyfriend Promised to be a Special Guest for a Noah Kahan Concert at Fenway Park. He Ditched it Last Minute: ‘Being Hungover is Not an Excuse’

Dating the wrong person can bring a lot of regret. Social media influencer Brianna LaPaglia (@ihatebriannachickenfry) spilled the tea on an unnamed ex, who allegedly embarrassed her at a Noah Kahan concert.
LaPaglia was getting ready for a Noah Kahan concert in New York City. One of her friends knew Kahan as a childhood friend, and in 2018, they went to one of his shows.
“You’re going to be the next Ed Sheeran,” LaPaglia told the country singer at the time. They hung out, and although the memory makes her cringe, LaPaglia has been his fan ever since. Although she’s admittedly a fangirl, her ex allegedly ruined her experience at the last Noah Kahan concert she went to at Fenway Park.
He couldn’t commit to the concert
Their relationship was so turbulent that LaPaglia claimed she “wasn’t allowed” to listen to Kahan because her ex would get jealous of him.
“I always want to give back to my best friends growing up,” LaPaglia said. Because her friends also listen to Noah Kahan, she decided to purchase tickets for all of them. Then, she told her then-boyfriend that she would be bringing her friends to the concert.
Then unexpectedly, her boyfriend said that he would be the “surprise guest.” LaPaglia found it odd, because her boyfriend didn’t like Kahan or his music. She brushed it off, thinking that her boyfriend’s performance on stage would mean that they’d receive VIP treatment.
When the day of the concert finally came, her boyfriend said that he couldn’t perform. LaPaglia alleged that the night before, he got “angry drunk.”
“Do you know the things I’ve done when I’m hungover? Being hungover is not an excuse.” LaPaglia recalled that he kept insisting that he couldn’t go. Finally, he budged and said that “maybe” he’ll come over at Fenway Park. LaPaglia went ahead.
“I’m like his keeper at this point, alright? I’m meeting up with Noah Kahan’s team. They still think that he’s coming,” LaPaglia recalled. She became the person the team went to for coordination with her boyfriend, even though she wasn’t his manager. When the show was about to start, LaPaglia got a call from him.
“The only reason I f–king agreed to it is because you like him. I only did this for you. This is all your fault. My reputation is on the line,” LaPaglia reenacted what her ex supposedly told her on the phone.
The concert started, and LaPaglia thought it would be a special and memorable moment for her to bond with her friends and family.
“I spent half the concert crying in the bathroom because I’m getting screamed at,” LaPaglia stated. To make matters worse, she also said that Kahan’s team was still asking her about her boyfriend’s whereabouts. She claimed that even until then, her boyfriend was still saying he was coming to the concert.
When Noah Kahan was about to announce the special guest, he had to inform his fans in the stadium that the person had cancelled.
“Everyone was staring at me,” LaPaglia said. She said she was made to feel like it was her fault that her boyfriend flaked on a special performance last minute. After the show, fans started discussing who the mysterious special guest could be. LaPaglia said that people started figuring out that her boyfriend was the mystery man.
Instead of owning up to the mishap, LaPaglia alleged that he made her “defend his honor.” She went with it and supposedly lied to protect his reputation.
“There will be no man to ruin my experience tonight.” The man’s now her ex for a reason, and she looked forward to the upcoming Noah Kahan concert. At times, the universe will give people signs to leave a relationship, but some will turn the other cheek and learn the hard way. The ex has not commented on the situation.
