Welcome to Pull It Together, where the goal is to narrow the massive field of comic book titles to the ones you shouldn’t overlook. It isn’t about what’s on my pull list, it’s about what could be on yours!
It’s a quiet week in this awesome January for comics, but it’s a good one for folks who wait for the trade. At least there’s a new
The Wicked + The Divine, until next week when we get—wait. That would be spoilers!
There's no cross domain hackery or tracking voodoo, it's just some sweet jQuery animations.
Please, think of the animations.
In the meantime, enjoy the html version below. I guess. If that's your thing.
Birds of Prey Vol. 5
The Birds find a new benefactor and a new mission: to take down Ra's al Ghul! But when Black Canary confronts the Demon's Head, he makes her an offer that could save her husband! Will she take him up on it?
From writer Christy Marx (of Jem and the Holograms) and artist Romano Molenaar, issues #25, 27-34 and Birds of Prey: Future's End are now collected in one volume.
Black Widow Vol. 2
On a snowy night in Prague, Black Widow must fight her way out of disaster alongside the Winter Soldier! And as Isaiah's London business turns complicated, Natasha finds herself fighting against — or alongside? — the Punisher for access to a deadly criminal network. But trapped on an exploding oil rig with Crossbones and his Skull Squad, will Frank and Natasha complete their missions — or take each other out? Then, Hawkeye is back! But could his fight with the Widow cost Isaiah his life? And in the wake of Wolverine's death, Black Widow bonds with the despondent X-23 over punching and espionage, and teams up with the Howling Commandos for a dangerous mission in Afghanistan. But what will the Avengers do when they learn how Natasha has been spending her days off?
As you can tell, kind of a lot of stuff goes down in this new volume of
Black Widow. This trade includes Nathan Edmonson and Phil Noto's Black Widow #7-12 and Punisher #9 (drawn by Mitch Gerads), to round out the two-issue Widow/Punisher crossover.
It’s a free day at Lumberjanes camp, and the Roanoke cabin is... bored out of their skulls. With nothing to fight the girls set themselves to earning all the badges they can that don’t involve monsters or the supernatural, which is surprisingly hard! When Mal and Molly sneak off in search of real adventure (that won’t put them to sleep!), they accidentally stumble into something more than they ever bargained for...
With its second issue after its initial 8 issue story arc, it seems like something new may be brewing for everyone's favorite camp-going girls.
Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #6
Hippolyta's first rule of war is demonstrated in 'Generations,' as Diana and Cheetah battle over a phoenix egg - and its promise of immortality! Then Diana and Big Barda fight the awesome menace of robot gorillas in 'Not Included.'
As a digital first series, the parts of this issue of Sensation Comics have already been released online, but you can pick them up in hard copy now at your local shop.
What are you picking up this week? Let us know in the comments!
