Ben Affleck Is Our Greatest Living Meme

Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman.

So Ben Affleck has become a meme—more like Ben Affleck is a walking mood board, and so he’s just constantly on the forefront of Twitter’s mind because of it. This isn’t a new thing. It’s been happening for the last few years. Ben Affleck does something, and there is always some sort of screengrab that we cling to.

Recently, it’s amped up because … well we’re all inside just waiting for something to do, and Ben Affleck has decided to provide for us with the drama of throwing out a cardboard cutout of his ex-girlfriend that was used early in 2020 to troll the paps.

The new images sweeping Twitter are paparazzi snaps of him with a Dunkin coffee and way too many Amazon packages.

It’s been turned into a secondary meme of sorts. The format is simple: You’re Ben Affleck and you’re balancing all these random things about yourself.

This all comes from a long line of Affleck meme images. Even just this summer there were plenty of memes with Ben Affleck and ex-girlfriend Ana de Armas walking around on pap walks that had the internet waiting for the next images to drop.

But more than that, we have a history of clinging to Ben Affleck just existing.

From Affleck smoking …

To Sad Affleck …

And my personal favorite, the back tattoo of the Phoenix as Affleck stares into the ocean …

They all represent what many of us feel deep in our souls, which is probably why you can literally figure out which Affleck is your favorite.

I firmly believe that Ben Affleck is our greatest living meme. I’m sorry to his entire filmography, but the only thing I really care about is the memes—well, and Triple Frontier and Jersey Girl. Those can stay. (I’m just kidding! I love your movies. I’ll buy you a Dunkin for this joke.)

I hope that these images continue to bring us joy. Unless Ben Affleck hates them. Which, I’m sorry. Maybe make your own memes for us?
