These Animated Beauty and the Beast Posters Feel Like Hogwarts Portraits

Disney has announced that we’ll be getting a new trailer next week, but until then here are some lovely animated portraits that look like they should be hanging on the walls of Hogwarts.

In addition to familiar faces like Emma Watson’s Belle, Luke Evans’ Gaston, and Dan Stevens’ Beast/Prince, we also get a closer look at some of the supporting characters as well! The Beast’s servants, who I think we’ve mainly seen in furniture-mode, are presented in their human states, so you can see the wigs, mustaches, and extravagant coats on Stanley Tucci’s Cadenza, a “neurotic maestro” who becomes a grand piano, Ian McKellen’s Cogsworth, and Ewan McGregor’s Lumiere. How much powder do you think they go through in one day?

Also, just by glancing at the dresses on Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Audra McDonald as Garderobe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Plumette, I can already see the film getting awards for their costume design. The detail and extravagance are truly breathtaking. I hope we’ll get a more scenes of their human forms than we did in the animated version because it seems like such a waste otherwise!

What do you think about the portraits? My personal favorite has to be Tucci’s silly Cadenza pose.
