“Weird Al” Yankovic to Voice Main Character on Disney XD Animated Series, Serenade Us All

Mandatory fun.

Of the parts of our childhoods that won’t go away, Weird Al is probably our favorite (aside from Star Wars, maybe)—well, my favorite, anyway. His continued popularity after decades of hilarity has now landed him a new gig: the voice of the main character on Milo Murphy’s Law.

Variety reports that the animated series is set for Disney XD with Al Yankovic in the lead as Milo Murphy, “the optimistic distant grandson of the famed Murphy’s Law namesake.” Yankovic will not only lend his signature vocal talents to Milo Murphy, but he’ll also perform the show’s theme music as well as other songs throughout the series.

Milo Murphy’s Law will also feature the voice talent of Christian Slater, Vanessa Williams, Sarah Chalke (Scrubs), and Disney alums from Phineas and FerbGirl Meets World, and Kirby Buckets. The show will “follow the adventures of Milo and his best friends Melissa and Zack as they attempt to embrace life’s catastrophes with positive attitudes and enthusiasm.”

… and probably hilarious songs.
